App Development is one of the best skills the hardest skills on this list. You have to learn some of the programming languages like Java.
Now that our world revolves around our mobile phone, no wonder why the mobile market is growing at a rapid speed! Mobile app development skills are in great demand, as more and more companies are preferring a mobile-first approach to build their applications.
So, there are a few skills that you need to have if you want to build a career as an Android app developer.
- First of all, learn Java. Not only learn, but also be a master in that. An Android app developer must be well aware of some of the most complex Java syntax and its programming syntaxes.
- You must have a good understanding of XML. In the Android world, developers use XML to create layouts that serve as the foundational UI definition for Android applications.
- You must be proficient with hands-on experience in Android Studio, Android SDK, APIs, and other required tools.
- As a developer, one must possess a decent understanding of design details. User-friendly apps will definitely enjoy more popularity.
- Consider Material design seriously. Google has released a set of forward-thinking interface guidelines and standards called Material Design, that is being rolled out across all of its products. Google recommends that Android developers use these guidelines as a foundation for their own user interfaces.
- You must have the ability of spatial reasoning. When a developer designs interfaces for a device, he must be aware of how users will interact with the application. Here, he/she needs the ability to think in 3D or visualize spatial relations between objects. One needs to understand the types of controls/inputs for different platforms. These are the learned skill and can be mastered with practice, and through developing real-life projects.
Last but not least, before jumping into developing an app, one must have a good idea! Ask yourself, for whom you are making the app and what problem will it solve? Good execution is only possible when you have a killer idea.
So, it is recommended to go through proper professional training if you want to build your career as an Android Developer. You can take up an online course from Udemy, Udacity or any other platforms or you can just check out the best offline institutes for App Development in your city.
