Puppet Show
A few days ago, two huge piles of a small green paperback caught my attention in the new arrivals section at my favourite bookshop… “Start-up Sutra” was the only thing I purchased from Oxford that day, despite the banners screaming “Upto 80% off” all over the place!

Before I start reading a book, I like to know whether it is a work of fiction or non-fiction. But this book had me puzzled: should it be classified as fiction, or was it a series of business case studies, or simply memoirs, or perhaps an inspirational work? Was it a work of fiction masquerading as eternal sutras, or universal truths dressed up as fiction? After scratching my head for a minute or two, I decided to start reading it, hoping to solve the classification puzzle later… now I have finished the book but am still not sure how to classify it – though I know where to keep it in my library – right next to ‘The Goal” by Eliyahu Goldratt!

The biggest surprise in the book was the appearance of Mr Chang as the “sutra-dhar”. Having had the opportunity to meet and interact with him at Delhi as well as Varanasi, I recall him as a short, stocky figure with a long ponytail, an intense expression and a strong accent – a strong and silent type, with a fondness for colourful t-shirts. I must confess that I had absolutely no idea he was such a great storyteller and that he could distil such deep insights from everyday happenings!

The adventures of Abhishek, Mekhla and Abhinav are engrossing. The characters are well described and the situations seem quite realistic. I liked the references to the telecom industry such as sending messages through CDMA, electronic top-ups and mobile banking apps. I was appreciating the way Moojin identifies the key attributes for a successful entrepreneur as courage, resilience, creative action, dispassion and Relationship …till I realized that the tales of 6d and Eko had reached the “happily ever after” stage in the penultimate chapter! Now what?

The memoirs of Moojin’s own life comprise the best part of the book. His life and work are inspiring, and demonstrate that the concepts covered in the book are not confined to present day technology companies. It occurred to me that each human life can be regarded as a start-up and so the sutras for start-ups can be applied to life itself!

By the last chapter, one realizes that Abhishek and company were merely puppets – after the show ends, one confronts the puppeteer and gathers that the real action was taking place backstage! But one final question remains unanswered: was the author hidden amongst the audience, or was he manipulating the puppeteer?

Hooked to the book!
This is really a great book. It shows all the sides of entrepreneurship in a very detailed manner. The ambitions, the courage, the heart-breaks, the failures, the success and the respect earned are explained very simply. This book has changed the way how I used to think about this world. The crux of 'Dare to Dream' cannot be explained better than in this book. Truly even an angel won't tell us about life what this book has told us. A valuable gift for anyone who wishes to have a successful professional as well as personal life. I look forward to read more books by this prodigious author and would like to add that this book is worth a lifetime of knowledge. Going by the other reviews, it seems some great entrepreneur, Sajid Kazi, has also reviewed this book. I look forward to reading a book by him as well. It is easy to howl sitting in the audience, very difficult to utter even one's name on the stage. Go cry somewhere else.

Inspiring, Thoughtful and Thought-Provoking
“Gagar mein Sagar”- a well-known Hindi expression which roughly translates as “Ocean in a Water-Pot”- is how best the book can be summed up. In a small, slim volume the author has ably managed present in a compressed form a veritable treasure-house of wisdom and ideas which have practical application in our daily lives.

The book is both thoughtful and thought-provoking and yet it is, at the same time, eminently readable because the format chosen is that of an interesting Guru-Shishya (Krishna-Arjun?) dialogue. The ideas flow naturally from an action-packed fast-paced narration of the lives of adventurous, courageous young people who bravely risk the security of their steady well-paid, if monotonous, jobs for the fulfilment of their dreams.

A truly inspiring book for all but particularly so for those of us who dare to dream dreams.

Book with a Life Lesson
If entrepreneurship was all about nuts and bolts, facts and figures, formulae and equations then anyone would have become an entrepreneur. This book removes the much-hyped overemphasis on the theoretical part and brings the focus rightly to the soft skills required to be a success. In the end, it is all about that dream and an unflinching devotion to it- come what may. It is about love, philosophy and faith in destiny that carries one through when everything around is falling by the wayside. This book weaves the topic of entrepreneurship seamlessly with a gripping story infused with great philosophy. Any great work is bound to be criticized by the people who are not able to understand it. By going through the reviews, I find that already happening. Great work Mr Author! Go for the Next.

An Inspiration to Aspiring Entrepreneurs
This will surely be an inspiration to aspiring and new entrepreneurs. A story of courage, resilience and destiny coupled with spiritual strength from Bihar school of yoga and Paramhansa Yogananda. It contains nuggets of wisdom from Moojin, a spiritual seeker and entrepreneur from Korea. The definition of courage, for instance, as 'courage is not absence of fear. It is the ability to act in the face of fear' deserves to go in a book of quotations.
